A trip to hidden Poneas Lake on Poneas Island, off San Benito on the west coast. After a short boat ride you climb a steep jungle trail to a lake with rafts and rope swings.
- Getting there: under an hour's drive from General Luna, then about 20 minutes by boat.
- The hike: 15–30 minutes on a steep, slippery trail with sharp rocks. Wear sneakers, not flip-flops.
- Tip: according to one tour operator, the lake can only be reached at high tide. Check in advance.
