Hospitals and clinics

• Siargao Island Medical Center (formerly Siargao District Hospital): the island's hospital, in Dapa, about 30–40 minutes from General Luna. It has an emergency room and X-ray.
• Metrodocs: a clinic in General Luna, good for injuries and basic medical issues.
• Raya Clinic: a clinic in General Luna.

Lost or stolen passport?

1. File a police report (call 911 or go to the General Luna station) and get it in writing.
2. Contact your embassy (for Israelis, the embassy in Manila; use the emergency line if it's urgent) and ask what you need for a replacement document.
3. Once you have a new passport, the Philippine Bureau of Immigration transfers your entry stamp from the lost passport to the new one.

Bureau of Immigration on Siargao

The Bureau of Immigration has an office in General Luna, at Purok 1, Poblacion. It also handles extensions of stay.

Safety

• Most surf spots, like Cloud 9, break over sharp reef and suit experienced surfers. Beginners should surf only with an instructor and at suitable spots.
• At Magpupungko Rock Pools and on rocky beaches, wear water shoes: there are sharp rocks and sea urchins.
• Pacifico Beach has a strong sideways current. Swim with care.
• On a scooter, wear a helmet and ride carefully, especially at night and in the rain.
